Haven't fished in a week or so and needed a musky fix! My buddy and I hit Scugog at about 1:30pm and fished till 8:45pm. Water temp was 84 deg.
Trolling bite was hot!!!! We went 11 for 13! (wiley headshakers, depthraider and spinnerbaits worked) Some decent size too with 6 over 40"!
45", 45", 44.5", 43", 41.5", 40.5", 39", 38.5", 38.5", 37" and 35".
It was my best day of musky fishing for numbers anyway...fish were a bit skinny but a lot of fun!
I will try to post pics (tried already once and didnt work) |

QUESTION: - to whom may know -
the fish are awfully skinny.. especially photo #3 and #9.
how much weight would they put on come end of season (novemberish)
would they turn into big fat chunky monsters or not really? _________________ LETS GO PUNCH SOME MUSKIES! |

Scugog produces the 'skinniest' of all the Kawartha Lakes. I don't think they ever get really chunky in the "Bog" _________________ Dax Jacklin |

NC,
11 fish in 7 hours? Awesome! Bravo! Well done guys!!!
PT
I think Lower Buckghorn can easily beat Scugog for the skinniest Kawartha fish.
MP,
I do not believe that those skinnies will put on extra weight that will make them look fat/tter. I believe that this is the way they are.. Genetics? Maybe.
Check out an apparently very same fish I caught in Aug and then late in Novemeber. Fish's size did not change much.

The skinniest Musky I ever caught had a handicap.
He was dragging around a stringer longer than him.
2 clips in his mouth, but the one at the other end was open...
That must have really slowed him down around weed beds.
He got to go back in the lake without the bling. |

I too caught this fish with 10' of 8lb line attached to it through a tiny hook still embedded into the fish's lip. Fish must have snapped the line at the rod tip of a panfry fisherman. Fish was happy to go back fully released.
